We are part of the
Soos Creek Botanical Garden is a great place for volunteers to make a
contribution to the community, while forming new friendships, learning
new skills, and having fun. You'll find rewarding choices to suit your
interests, talents, and abilities.
We are looking for volunteers for Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and
Saturdays, between 10am and 3pm. Here are some of the areas where
you can help.

Do you have a need to weed or get
excited at the first buds of spring?
Working alongside our knowledgeable
staff to maintain the gardens may be
right for you. Raking leaves, pulling
weeds, pruning and building new
garden paths are some of the
activities our maintenance team
Do you marvel at the potential in a
seed? Help propagate, grow and care
for plants, flowers and trees to which
are used to further enhance the
display gardens or sold for
fundraising. Help operate and
maintain the hoop house,
shade house and nursery facility.
Plant Sale Area
Maintain and prep for the Spring and
Fall Plant Sales, two very important
fund-raisers for the Garden.
Plant Research and Conservation
Identify, describe, and label plants for
the Garden database and the annual Plant Sales.
Docent (Tour Guide)
Learn how to conduct a tour. Stroll the beautiful Gardens with visitors
and share the rich history of how it all began.
The Heritage Center is devoted to the history of the early settlers of the
70 square mile area called the Soos Creek Plateau. Help maintain and
grow this valuable community asset.
Marketing and Communication
Help get the word out! The Marketing and Public Relations Committee
promotes the Garden and all of its related activities.
The Event Committee plans and executes all social and fundraising
events for the Garden.
Help recruit and manage new volunteers and keep them informed
through monthly meetings and newsletters.
Join our build team and help improve existing infrastructure or
take on new projects.

SCBG is seeking a motivated volunteer to lead our
Propagation Team. He or she should have
experience in the care and maintenance of plants,
knowledge of propagation techniques and protocols,
and the ability to manage the hoop house and shade
house. This person will work closely with other
Garden team leaders and have a willingness to
encourage, motivate and share knowledge with a
group of eager volunteers.
